THE THANKFUL CHALLENGE

Happy holidays, everyone.

This is the last week of the year 2016, and to round off the year, I'm issuing a 'Thankful Challenge' to you, dear reader. What are you most thankful for this year? Take time to think about it and share with fellow readers in the comments column below.

Personally, I am grateful for a lot of things, but one thing I am most grateful for this year is the birth of my 'baby'. (And no, I did not give birth to a child this year. I'm referring to the blog.)

For sometime now, I dreamt of having a blog that would add value to people, and in August this year my dream came to pass. For that I am most grateful. I am also grateful for all the readers of the blog, especially those who took the time to comment on my posts at one time or another. Nothing encourages a writer as much as having readers interact with him/her.

So, what are you most grateful for this year? Please share with other readers. Also, to wrap up the year, I'll be putting up the ten most popular posts of all time so readers can have the chance to review their favourite post on the blog.

Do have a wonderful new year.

  1. Wow.
Quite a fitting write-up to end the year.

I'm thankful for quite a number of things:

I'm thankful for the practical discovery that it is very possible to be joyful, actively occupied and financially sustained in the absence of a formal, daily job.

I'm also thankful for family: darling big brothers and awesome sisters who gave me permission to raid their wallets as often as needed without complaining.

Furthermore, I'm thankful for wonderful friends in my life who have indeed influenced my life for good this year

All in all, I'm deeply grateful to God and to precious people in my life for a great year.

Kudos @ Keeping it real with Lauretta Ani!
Looking to read more from you in 2017!

  2. Hmmmmmmmm. I'm grateful for a lot of people, events and things, but most especially the new persons I got to know this year. It was an opportunity to add value to the lives of others. It is special to me because I usually prefer to be on my own and shut people out. But this year I enlarged my heart to accommodate new persons and I'm so much better for it. I look forward to the new ones I will also get to meet in the coming year.

    1. Well done Joy. The more people you add value to, the greater will be your sphere of influence, and the more opportunities you will get to add even more value. Keep up the good work.

  3. Thank you Lauretta for this Awesome challenge, I have never really sat to think of how the year has been and now you have presented the opportunity to me. I think I am most grateful for God's mercies this year. It's been quite a challenging and busy year and along the line a lot of priorities were downplayed, there were lots of procrastination and all sorts but God's mercy pulled me through them. I am particularly thankful for family also and loved ones. Also thankful because the part of God been my provider and protector was revealed so strongly to me. I look forward to knowing him more and the many decisions I have to make in the coming year. Thank you laurettani. It's such a great job your doing. I thank the Lord with you for the birth of this blog. Weldone.

    1. Thanks Uz. Trust me, the fact that you have learned not to worry is a great blessing indeed. So many people are struggling with worry and anxiety and are looking for a way to conquer those emotions. May the blessings continue and multiply in the new year

  7. It's been an interesting year. I think it has been the most challenging year of my life. I'm grateful to God for the strength to practice the WORD I have been learning over the years, and for keeping me from stumbling. I'm also grateful for my family which includes LCC/LOCCAF; they've been a major source of support and encouragement.

  8. I too am thankful for a lot of things. Long sustained hope materialized (Got married this year after courting for over 5years) and things which were not even on my list at the beginning of the year showed up...wonderful testimonies indeed. But most of all, I am thankful for God's mercies in his longsuffering towards me; this year has probably been that year, and he has been merciful to surround me with people worth their weight in precious stones. I am totally grateful. And congratulations on the birth of this 'baby'.

  9. Thank you Femi, and thank God for making your dream come true-that you got married to the love of your life at last. So perhaps I might get an invite to a baby shower by this time next year? (Just kidding). I wish you and your new family a prosperous new year.

  10. Giving thanks is something I derive a lot of joy from. It helps me realize how truly blessed I am and also helps me keep hope alive for more blessings to come.
2016 has indeed been a remarkable year with so many things to be thankful for and so many people to be thankful to.
I have learned a lot of life changing lessons, made awesome new friends, gotten lovely gifts, read interesting books, visited exciting places, learned new skills...the list goes on!
Of all the things I am thankful for this year, I am most thankful to God for bringing a certain someone my way.
This wonderful man has brought me nothing but absolute joy everyday since I met him. His family also are such blessed people and I look forward to the day I become his Mrs. God willing.
Thank you so much @laurettaani for giving us a platform to share our thoughts on things we are thankful for. Great job you with the blog. May 2017 be filled with tremendous blessings. Happy New year in advance everyone!

  11. Wow, 'AMAZING' is what 2016 has been to me. Not because it was void of challenges (quite the contrary). I'm most grateful for new INSIGHT to life and purpose - this singularly coloured all my decisions, action and reactions this year. And the biggest of these actions was leaving my unfulfilling 8-5 -despite the economic crunch, LOL - and fully committing to other career babies I'd been casually nurturing.
Family, friends and health are also tops on my list.
That being said, 2016 is the thriller, the full premiere unfolds in 2017. Amen.
